How to access iTunes music, TV shows and movies from Xbox 360?

Usually, there’s a limitation to play iTunes video on non-Apple devices like Xbox 360 because iTunes video is in M4V format with DRM protection. Is there anyway to stream iTunes videos and music to the Xbox 360? Keep reading.

Question: Play iTunes films on Xbox 360?

“Hi,
This is possible to play films downloaded on iTunes on an Xbox 360 steaming from a Windows 7 PC?
Thanks!
Scott” – From tomsguide.com

Xbox 360 stands out for its online service, Xbox Live that allows users to play and download games online, purchase and stream music, television programs, and films through the Xbox Music and Xbox Video portals and access third-party content services through media streaming applications. It also allows users to stream media from local PCs, which means that you can transport videos, music and so on to Xbox 360 via USB for playing. With those features mentioned, you will have great video experience for enjoying music, TV shows and movies on Xbox 360.

However, media content like movies, TV shows purchased or rented from iTunes are encrypted with DRM protection. That’s to say, you are not allowed to directly transfer movies from iTunes library to Xbox 360 or any other non-Apple devices for watching unless you strip the DRM lock from iTunes movies and TV shows while converting iTunes M4V videos to Xbox 360 supported formats.

The video files that the Xbox 360 supports are mostly formats that are native to the Windows platform. And that would be the Windows Media Video format or the WMV file versions 7 to 9. The device also supports a maximum resolution of 1080p for these file formats. It uses either the Windows Media Audio Pro or the Windows Media Audio Standard for sounds. WMV Image 1 and 2 are also supported. And aside from these Windows-based video formats, the other files supported are VC-1, MPEG-1, MPEG-2, and the H.264 MPEG-4. As for audio formats, the ones supported are WMA file versions 7 through 9, WMA Professional, WMA Lossless, and MP3.”

If you must play your iTunes purchased videos, songs and TV shows on your Xbox 360, here’s a utility named DRM Media Converter from Aimersoft will help you achieve this goal. This program has the ability to re-encode the DRMed .M4V/.M4B/.M4P to Non-DRM version of .MP4, .WMV, .AVI, .MP3, .WMA, etc. that are supported by Xbox 360. It also offers two format presets with Standard-Definition quality and High-Definition quality for Xbox 360 so that you don’t have to adjust those unintelligible output parameters like Resolution, Bit rate, Frame rate, and so on. The only thing that kind of sucks about it is that the output file’s quality will go down slightly. This is inevitable while something is compressed or converted into another file format.

Now here I will take iTunes to Xbox 360 Video Converter for Windows as an example to show you how to convert iTunes DRM-ed videos to DRM-free WMV/MP4 for Xbox 360 on Windows 8/7/Vista/XP/2003/2000/NT4. Before that, you can download and install the free trial version of the iTunes DRM Video Converter for Xbox on your computer.

I read a lot of reviews before I decided to purchase this product, all were positive reviews. I am very impressed with the way the program performed. No other media converter can come close to this product. This product works and does exactly as it says in the description.! It’s very user friendly. Conversion process is accurate. Quiet, efficient, and intelligent is the only way I can describe it, and on top of that, the price is right! Every penny I paid for this product was worth it. I’m a happy man..

Amazingly fast conversion thanks to the built in Nvidia Kuda technology. Not something you will find in many other conversion software. Was amazed how this software worked without glitches, very lightweight; didn’t slow down my machine.
