The Hottest Samsung NX1 has already support the H.265/HEVC videos shooting! And the problem we face may be: How to edit NX1 HEVC video on Non-linear Editing Software (like Premiere Pro, Avid Media Composer, Sony Vegas Pro, FCP, etc.)? How to play NX1 H.265 videos on Windows Media Play or QuickTime? How to convert NX1 HEVC videos to MOV/MP4 with superb video quality? Come here! You can get all answers!
The following issues and experiences is from a non professional videographers on converting Samsung NX1 H.265 video to Premiere Pro for editing:
I am in the group of non pro videographers, who films short 30 to 60 second videos of family, etc… And I do not edit the clips. I just save them (or delete them if they are bad), view them, and share with family and friends. I honestly don’t have the time to do more and I am happy with this. I still want superb video quality which is why I ordered the Samsung NX1 and it will be here in 2 days.
I would like to know the easiest way to convert Samsung NX1 HEVC video to H.264 MP4, MOV, AVI, WMV formats that I can edit them in my Premiere Pro CS6 (I’m running Windows 8) as well as my friends and family can view with simple programs like Windows Media Player, 4K TV or on a Mac with QuickTime.
I prefer the video to still be sharp like the original file. None of the people I will be sharing with will have 4k monitor and their computers are on the slower side. Should this file then be a 1080p file? I may send via email, and also I will post to my Smugmug.com Web page so the file would have to be compatible. Here are there instructions (http://help.smugmug.com/customer/portal/articles/93302-how-should-i-format-videos-for-upload-) and here (http://help.smugmug.com/customer/portal/articles/84569). Seems like they suggest a .mov file in h264 format.
I do have a fast computer and 4k monitor and I have been able to play sample nx1 4k files with my setup with Potplayer.
After searching for a long time on the web, I have read some on some forums talk about Wondershare Video Converter Ultimate. The professional H.265/HEVC Decoder & Encoder can decode and encode Samsung NX1 H.265 videos to H.265 MP4/MKV, H.264, MPEG-4, MOV, MP4, WMV, AVI, FLV, Apple ProRes, DNxHD, AIC, 3D MP4/MKV/AVI, etc. while maintain the high qality. The software provides 30x faster conversion than any other conversion tools available in the market. Fortunately, it can also transfer the converted NX1 h.265 video files to other device using Wi-Fi network. What’s more, the H.265 Decoder/Encoder can also encode any videos to H.265 MP4/MKV, so I am willing to do it if that is the easiest and best choice though.
The following is my HEVC conversion workflow, if you have a Samsung NX1 and have the similar problem with me, hope my experience can help you.
