My Alternative MTS/MXF Converter Solution For Steaming AVCHD From NAS Home Server

Background Information

My husband is a photographer. He shot wedding ceremony to save happy and sweet time memory as a job. He really love this. Also in our families, many memories are saved on his cameras. Now children have grown up. We hope to save these videos compatible with PC or Mac for convenient watching.

Cameras We Have

Sony HXR-MC50 1-CMOS AVCHD Camcorder

Panasonic P2 camcorder
Shoots HD MXF files with the extension MXF. (Same as Panasonic P2 camcorders AG-AC130EJ, AJ-HPX370, Canon XF series camcorder XF300, XF305, C300 and Sony EX camera)

Information I Got From Network

My Alternative Solution

Before I use alternative solution, I have been using Wondershare encoding tool. We store and collect our videos and footage on our home server NAS. Then this year, I found better alternative solutions:

Replace MTS Converter Using BSPlayer

I use now BSPlayer to stream and play MTS files saved on NAS home server. It works well on my PC without MTS recoding. But this pretty tool can not work on my Mac. It is a little bit weak on this point.

Replace MXF Converter Using FCP X

I learn more about MXF file in structure. Just around these days, I have found this useful article here: Use FCP X to rewap MXF file to ProRes 422 with the extension MOV recognizable by MAC.

PS:

My husband and I are really glad to find good app tools. We now always watch the shot memories on our free time. See our children playing and laughing in their birthday party and family party. Really a joyful moment.

Editor’s Recommendation

  2. Decode and Encode Samsung NX1 H.265 footage to MOV, MP4, AVI, WMV for editing
  3. Wrap MXF for editing in Premiere Pro CC with audio/video synchronization on Mac

Apart from normal features,in addition you can preview the videos in a built-in media player (e.g. adjust the volume, navigate back and forth), take snapshots and load files from a device.
